I am truly honored to have a son like Geo Vega. He has taught me so much, with all the struggle he's been through with spinal meningitis, that failure is never an option and to persevere through the hardest of times. I wanted to do something special with him so I decided to dress him up and take him downtown for a nice photoshoot and it's one of my best ones so far. I think I really captured his essence in almost all of them. If you want to keep up with his crazy antics, I made him a blog to post updates for everyone at http://geovega.tumblr.com. Enjoy!

MARRESE CRUMP STARS OPPOSITE TONY JAA FOR PROTECTOR 2
All star cast continues to grow for this Thai action sequel
Bangkok, Thailand - August 17, 2011 - The collaboration between the prominent American martial artist and legendary action director Panna Rittikrai is much sooner than previously arranged. The Protector sequel, locally titled Tom Yum Goong 2, is to now set the stage for the much anticipated appearance of Crump facing the series' star, Tony Jaa.
Marrese Crump's project "Formless", set to be directed by Rittikrai and already boasts a hard hitting cast, is next in line after the filming of Protector 2. The sequel's cast also includes "Chocolate" star Jija Yanin, Dan Chupong and Kazu Tang, which has everyone expecting this to be the studio's most action packed movie so far.
In the Opening Ceremony to kick off production earlier today, Panna Rittikrai, who reprises his position directing the action, has stated he is very excited to be working with Marrese Crump, Tony Jaa and the rest of the action lineup, while Prachya Pinkaew directs and produces.
Marrese Crump has recently come back from the set of RZA's "The Man With The Iron Fists" in Shanghai China, now in post-production, and is looking forward to Protector 2 with many more projects to follow. More information on him can be found at his website at www.marresecrump.com.

As you know, I was a Presenter for the 2011 Action Film Challenge & Festival and I presented the award for Best Action Sequence since that was one of the awards my team won last year. That award, along with 7 others including Best Film, went to "Willing & Abele" from Walter Garcia's team, Enso Productions. Walter Garcia and some of his guys worked on my team last year for "A Spaniard's Tale" where we swept the awards then, as well. I could talk more about how great the movie was, but I'll just let you see for yourself.

This year, I have the honor and privelege of being the Spokesperson and Presenter for the 2011 Action Film Challenge & Festival. Last year, my team and I walked away with SIX awards and I hope that this year's teams really bring it and raise the bar this year. My lead actor from A Spaniard's Tale, Walter Garcia, has decided to put his own team together to compete this year, so I wish him the best of luck. Here is a video of me talking about what has happened since the Awards Ceremony last year and what you can expect this year!

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN CRUMP FILM PROJECT
Crump will star, Rittikrai will direct!
August 1st, 2010 (Bangkok, Thailand) - For everyone looking for more info on the Panna Rittikrai and Prachya Pinkaew (Ong Bak, The Protector) project starring American martial artist Marrese Crump, we have some new developments! The project is officially titled "Formless" and is co-written by Anesti Vega and Marrese Crump. Formless will undoubtedly be shot on location in Thailand with Pinkaew as producer and Rittikrai directing. Details of the story have yet to be released, but it has been stated that the concept stems from Crump's vision to blend great martial arts action with real combative strategies.
In keeping with the philosophy of integration, Crump has traveled around the world to personally seek out the best in every field to come together for this project. Confirmed so far are the likes of Anderson Silva, known as the best MMA fighter in the world, as well as one of the most charismatic pro-wrestling superstars, Dave Bautista. Formless has also attracted the tremendous skill of world renowned masters such as Capoeira mestre Cobra Mansa and Filipino Kali master Ray Dionaldo with many more announced soon. Bases are covered in many aspects of the production process already with Kinetic, mentored by Wu Tang mastermind The RZA, being brought on to add a unique and vibrant feel to the soundtrack.
Formless starts shooting this Winter.

AN EXCITING SUMMER FILM FAIR COMES TO USF TAMPA CAMPUS THIS JUNE.
The event promises dynamic speakers and activities.
The University Film & Video Association @ USF is hosting a “Summer Film Fair”, Saturday, June 12, 2010 starting at 9am and ending at 6pm at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom on the USF Tampa campus. This will be an exciting event targeted to young people, college students, and indie filmmakers interested in pursuing film as a career. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door, payable on the event website at http://ufvausfSummerFair.eventbrite.com/. Breakfast and lunch will be provided while it lasts.
The event kicks off with “Motown” Maurice, a local talk show host who has generated quite a buzz locally with his “Motown Maurice Show” (http://www.motownmaurice.com). This has resulted in him receiving a key to the city by Mayor Pam Iorio. Come meet Motown and hear how this young television entrepreneur aspires to Oprah mogul status.
Then, there will be a series of interesting workshops led by volunteer local video professionals; a scriptwriting workshop by script consultant Eric Bean; a workshop on emerging film technologies by professional videographer Richard Wright, a workshop on creating music videos by martial artist and filmmaker Anesti Vega, and a workshop on making culturally diverse films by African-American filmmaker, Rodrick Colbert.
Our luncheon speaker will be Professor Stephen Schlow, chair of the film department at the University of Central Florida. Professor Schlow, through his nearly 40 years as a producer, director, and film educator, will enlighten us on how UCF trains its film students to bridge the gap between their art and the film industry.
The fair will then have a showcase of its local film talent. We will see work from award –winning USF student filmmakers like Dan Bakst and Joyce Yong. An additional special treat will be a film screening of “What lurks in the Dark” by the “talk of the town” outstanding high school student filmmaker Garrett Brown. This is something that you will not want to miss.
Next, Ann Poonkasem AKA Ann P. will perform a musical tribute to our guest of honor, Michael France. Ann Poonkasem is a former Miss USF and distinguished UFVA alumna. Mr. France is a local resident, owner of the St. Pete Beach Theatre, and successful Hollywood screenwriter (“Golden Eye”, “The Hulk”, “The Punisher”, “and The Fantastic Four”). His scripts have generated over billion dollars of box office and home DVD revenue. He will lead a Q/A session about his work, life, and experiences in Hollywood.
To wrap up, UFVA hopes to unveil a sneak preview of an upcoming movie at the end of the show.
The event will be enhanced by tables from film schools from around the area and Florida. So, attendees will have the option to speak to representatives from these schools.
UFVA is also seeking event sponsors for the event. For more information, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

I just got word that one of movies, Hashishin, has been officially selected to play at Sunscreen Film Festival! I will be posting more info soon on what time and date it will actually be screening, but wanted to get the word out now and hope that everyone can come out and support the film.
We had the premiere of Hashishin at the Art Institute back in October, but this will be the first festival screening of it and I hope that everyone who was involved in the film can come out to this screening as well! It is a symbol of your time and hard work that has made this film a success! Thank you again so much!
The little boy in my film, Kalil Hamdaoui, also plays a role in the film "Hayden" that is also screening at the festival! Also, there is another film that was also officially selected for Sunscreen called "A Piece of my Heart", directed by Stephen McKendree, where I was the Second Unit Director... so please try to check out those films as well!
What is Elamintal and why is it on some of the photos and videos featured on this site? Elamintal was the name of Anesti Vega's first production company. It specialized in a variety of production services that ended up spreading too thin. With the launching of Maluco Studios specializing in action and extreme film, video and photo... Elamintal is now only a name that represents Anesti's early work.
