Anesti Vega trains in Martial Arts & Capoeira

From an early age, Anesti Vega had a strong competitive nature that was soon directed toward his intrigue for the martial arts. Little did he know, it would go on to become his lifestyle.

It started first with being drawn to the cartoon shows of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and G.I. Joe, with a specific interest in the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow characters. When he was introduced to the video game, Mortal Kombat, he was completely convinced on learning the martial arts.

While his friends were learning button combinations for the game, Anesti was in the backyard on the trampoline practicing the real techniques. After showing a solid dedication to learning, his mother enrolled him in the local Tae Kwon Do academy. In high school, Anesti joined the wrestling team to learn and expand his skills. He also met a martial artist by the name of Marrese Crump, who introduced Anesti to many other different styles of martial arts including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kali, Capoeira and Kung Fu as well as top masters of some of these arts.

After joining the U.S. Army, Anesti did his best to continue his martial arts training by enrolling in their hand to hand combat training course and eventually becoming his Company's liaison for close quarters combat training.

After fulfilling his duty, Anesti returned to Florida and picked up his training with Marrese where he left off. He assisted with the 3R Self Defense Academy in Tampa until Marrese moved away to get involved with the film industry, but not before being awarded a black belt by Marrese. Anesti soon started a program called Warriors Tribe that held self defense classes for underprivileged children in many locations throughout southern Hillsborough County.

As Anesti's own career in the film industry progressed, he knew he needed to take his training to the next level. He sought out an earlier master that Marrese introduced him to in high school, Mestre Rony Costa, whose Capoeira group had since grown into a world class academy. Anesti traveled several times a week from Tampa to Sarasota for over 5 months before relocating to Sarasota where he currently trains in Capoeira full time, as well as expanding his knowledge of other styles.

Anesti combines his knowledge of the martial arts with his film career, specializing in action design, cinematography and directing. His understanding of timing and rhythm, along with discipline and a dedication to quality, gives him a tremendous advantage in capturing fight scenes and action just right. Anesti not only attributes his success in the industry to his martial arts training, but also in helping to overcome all of life's daily struggles.

elamintal?

What is Elamintal and why is it on some of the photos and videos featured on this site? Elamintal was the name of Anesti Vega's first production company. It specialized in a variety of production services that ended up spreading too thin. With the launching of Maluco Studios specializing in action and extreme film, video and photo... Elamintal is now only a name that represents Anesti's early work.
